  • 2.1 Design and implement a culturally responsive, multi-method identification protocol that utilizes universal screening, local norms, performance-based assessments, and qualitative measures.
  • 2.2 Advocate effectively for the identification of giftedness within traditionally underrepresented populations
  • 2.3 Compile and present a defensible case for gifted services using a holistic student profile for child study teams or program placement committees.

Domain 3: Mastery of Global Program Models & Integration

  • 3.1 Critically analyze and apply key global models for integrating gifted services, including the Schoolwide Enrichment Model (SEM), the Autonomous Learner Model, and cluster grouping.
  • 3.2 Design a continuum of services that effectively blends acceleration, enrichment, and differentiation within the general education framework and specialized settings.
  • 3.3 Evaluate the suitability of various program modelsfor different school contexts and student needs.

Domain 4: Advanced Curriculum & Pedagogical Design

  • 4.1 Systematically apply differentiation frameworks to modify content, process, product, and learning environment for gifted learners, with expertise in curriculum compacting and tiered assignments.
  • 4.2 Design and implement inquiry-based units using models such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Project-Based Learning, and Concept-Based Instruction.
  • 4.3 Integrate advanced thinking frameworks (e.g., Sandra Kaplan’s Depth & Complexity, Paul’s Elements of Thought) to promote critical and complex thinking.
  • 4.4 Develop instructional sequences that explicitly teach and nurture creative thinking and complex problem-solving, with application to social innovation and entrepreneurship.

Domain 5: Affective Guidance & Talent Development

Domain 7: Ecosystem Building & Collaborative Leadership

  • 7.1 Forge and sustain productive partnerships with families, providing effective communication, guidance, and collaborative support strategies.
  • 7.2 Establish collaborative networks with community institutions (universities, museums, businesses) and design structured mentorship programs to extend learning beyond the
    classroom.
  • 7.3 Lead professional learning initiatives to build school-wide capacity for talent development and advocate for policy supporting gifted education.

Domain 8: Synthesis & Practitioner Application

  • 8.1 Synthesize theoretical knowledge and practical skills to design, justify, and present a fully-realized, context-specific enrichment program in the Capstone Project.
  • 8.2 Demonstrate reflective practice by articulating a personal, research-informed philosophy of gifted education and its implementation.
