Session 1: Introduction to Social & Emotional Learning (SEL)
• Understand what SEL is and why it matters.
• Explore the five core SEL competencies (CASEL framework).
• Examine research and case studies on SEL effectiveness.
Session 2: Deep Dive into SEL Competencies
• Explore each SEL competency in depth.
• Connect competencies to developmental stages (K–12).
• Identify classroom practices that support each skill.
Session 3: Integrating SEL into Curriculum & Lesson Planning
• Understand how to weave SEL into academic content.
• Analyze existing lesson plans for SEL integration potential.
• Practice designing SEL-infused activities.
Session 4: Creating a Supportive SEL Environment
• Design classroom norms and routines that promote SEL.
• Practice trauma-informed and culturally responsive SEL practices.
• Address challenges and barriers to implementing SEL.
Session 5: Assessment, Reflection & Action Planning
• Learn how to assess SEL growth and reflect on teacher impact.
• Build long-term SEL integration plans.
• Share best practices and receive peer feedback.
